Robots

FTC teams build robots each year to complete a new challenge. The process teaches students to prototype, test, and improve designs efficiently.

Decode Season (2025–2026)

In our rookie year, our team designed two main robots: Plaid V1 and Plaid V2. Decode required robots to collect five-inch artifacts and shoot them into goals while remaining inside an 18-inch cube. Watch the game animation.

Plaid V1

Plaid V1 robot

Plaid V1 used a reliable single-flywheel shooter. It gave us a strong foundation and taught us to improve our aiming, reduce shooter backspin, widen the intake, and increase artifact capacity.

Plaid V2

Plaid V2 robot

Plaid V2 added a 270-degree rotating turret, an adjustable hood, a spindexer, and a more powerful shooter. It won the North East League Tournament and competed at the Northern California Regional.
